by Edward Streeter ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 3, 1956
Streeter, who has taped family situations and experiences here records the logical to nonsensical events leading up to Christmas in the Baxter family. For Mr. Baxter, now a grandfather, is ready to call quits, to cut down on the ridiculous expense and to be sensible and budgetary about the whole thing. Which makes him an old Scrooge -- to his wife Susan and their married children and to the many invisible hands around his New York City apartment house. (Of course what he would really like himself for a present in a Jaguar.) But his firm stand is undermined -- the season's madness of cards, wrappings, shopping, secret lists and the city's growing excitements cut him down to everyone else's size -- and away he goes, with mink and more for Susan and a happy feeling for himself. Found recognizables here.
