FIG TREE JOHN

The life story of an Apache Indian who settled in the Colorado desert and lost touch with the world about him. His hatred for the whites results in his trying to keep his son from white man ways, and in his going mad when the boy marries a Mexican. There are a few sordid spots -- watch out for your conservatives -- but it is an interesting by-path in the Indian situation. More of a man's book than a woman's. Possibly the LaFarge audience.
