THE SINGING CAVE

On the coast of Ireland, a young boy finds a mysterious cave. Within its shadowy confines lies the skeleton of a Viking and preserved with him, a gaming board. The presence of this relic brings out the dormant qualities of the neighboring townspeople and officials, who for various motives, some selfish, some altruistic, are interested in claiming the Viking. Merged with a good adventure story is a rich background of life on the Irish coast and the neighboring Breton shores, conveyed poetically by the author of The Island of Horses.
