I, SAID THE FLY

The finding of a gun, hidden in the floor, unearths and identifies the murder of a girl, and implicates all the tenants of the rooming house in London's Bloomsbury, particularly Kay, separated from her husband, ignorant possessor of criminal clues. Then comes another killing and Inspector Cory fails to get all the answers until years later. Nice going and neat narrating.
