That same audience which signed on for the earlier flight of fantasy, Stowaway to the Mushroom Planet, will enjoy the newest variations on that earlier theme -- though readers who are unfamiliar with the first book may find this confusing. Now David Topman and sidekick Chuck are left in charge of the observatory of Tyco Bass, who outfitted their space ship and discovered the secret planet whose existence is known only to himself and the boys. Tyco is now on Basidium, the Mushroom, Planet. When Prewytt Blumbrydge, inventor of the Blumbitron -- a device which could accidentally ""unravel the world"" --disappears, the boys must contact Tyco Bass and ultimately decide the fate of all the Basidiumites. Caution: If readers do not wear Special Polarizing filters they may disappear in the final chapter. Or unravel.
