by Eleanor Weakley Nolen ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 13, 1941
Good story of early days in Ohio, with almost too fortuitous a plot, but convincing enough as it is told. Nancy goes with her father on the annual shopping trip to Cincinnati, and on the canal boat they become involved in trouble with a slaver, which almost wrecks the trip for them. But Johnny Appleseed comes to the rescue, and the story ends on a happy note.
