Remember to be a Friend among strangers, Faith Loring's Quaker father tells her, as he reluctantly grants her permission to join spoilt Anabel Sedler on a West Indian cruise. And Faith Loring has many occasions to remember these words, for amidst the excitement of touring Caracas, Haiti, and Saint Thomas, she becomes innocently involved in a smuggling episode in which she fears her hosts are incriminated. Responsive to Anabel's pathetic need for friendship, Faith watches with pleasure the therapeutic effect of their relationship, but fears bitterly the traumatic results which Anabel might suffer should her parents prove to be criminals. But in this best of all possible worlds, nothing is amiss for long and a radiant Faith joins a radiant Anabel in the vow that theirs will be a radiant and enduring friendship.
