The Paige girls, mother and daughter, are two beautiful, rich and desirable New Yorkers. Well preserved too- as they are in the opulence of their surroundings, they are also stimulated by brilliant careers; Mama Paige is an ace photographer, while baby is the toast of Broadway. The two slip in and out of little frocks, freshen up in brisk showers, and sip very dry martinis. Unblemished by their professional life, they also find romance, although Mrs. Paige's romantic itinerary is more complicated and leads from an actor through psychoanalysis to the right man- a painter.... A forced as well as willing suspension of disbelief- for feminine readers who want to fill those difficult hours when the television networks suspend their soap operas.
