Elizabeth Drae a charming and fanciful story about Angel, A little Mexican boy who lives in the bell tower of the Cathedral, in Angel in the Tower, a Bell Book (see below). Courtesy, honesty, kindness and truthfulness are the values emphasized in Angel's adventures as he chickens on the Cathedral roof, bargains in the market place for a rich American who befriends him, learns to read and write from schoolboys and faces the Archbishop after spilling a bucket of water on him. Children in the lower will find this pleasing, but it will hardly hold the attention of ten or eleven year olds whose heroes are more likely to be living on the Moon than in a Cathedral bell tower.
