by Elizabeth L. Mathieson ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
This is a manual of instructions in embroidery, knitting, tatting, afghans, quilts, crochet, rugs, and pineapple designs. The preliminary instruction for each type of handiwork is clear even for beginners, and the illustrations show progressively the how-to-do-it steps. Each section has an introductory page noting the place of handiwork in the American picture, defining the basic types under the specific heading. Photographs of the finished pieces of hand work are followed in each case by directions, and where necessary, detailed diagrams and illustrations of procedure. Not completely comprehensive, but covering a wide range of ideas and procedure.
