This is a comprehensive handbook for girls and women in war time. It discusses the different lines of war work a girl can go into, from joining the actual military services to working in the land army, defense plants and offices, giving requirements and backgrounds necessary for each and what to expect from each in her own personal life. There is a detailed discussion of diet and health with nutrition charts and valuable suggestions for maintaining health under varied circumstances. Advice is given regarding war marriages and motherhood, and the final section is devoted to morale. Throughout the book true to life stories are introduced which bear out the discussion and add interest for the younger girls, though the whole is interestingly presented. A very useful book.
