Not a story about Elmer, Einer and Kristie this time (see Here Comes Kristie and others), though the setting-mid-west farm country- and the gentle humor are the same. Nancy is bored with farm life until she hears of a coming event-a plug horse derby to be held at the State Fair. With high hopes for her own horse, Plow Boy, Nancy grooms and trains him for the preliminary race, bucks the scoffing of her brother Bill, is interviewed by a newsman and finally, on the big day, comes through in a photo finish.
