The second adventure of the ""Five Find Outers"" and their dog, this again satisfies the need for mystery stories on the third and fourth grade level. Some decent adults and some unpleasant ones -- but the children are always children, full of curiosity, warm sympathy, and endless capacity for getting into trouble. The children side with Luke, garden assistant, when his boss tries to pin the theft of a valuable Siamese cat on innocent Luke. Impressed with Luke's kindliness, the children ignore class barriers, and upset the local constable's plans by taking their own way to right the wrong. Adequate action in a different sort of setting -- lots of dialogue.
