KIND OF ANGER

Dutch Piet Maas, warped, insecure and a failure at suicide, changes into a seasoned conspirator who dares the police and assassination by hired gunmen. A researcher on the European edition of World Reporter, he is sent to find the woman connected with the murder of the Kurdish refugee, Col. Arbil. He blackmails for information about her, finally locates her, and, with her eventual trust in him, accompanies her to play a fast game via Switzerland and France to get the most money out of international (and other) interests and to make a safe escape. Again the Ambler ability that insures a well-meshed, plausible plot and credible characters.
