Last year Stokes published The Lost Queen of Egypt by Lucile Morrison. Now comes this book, dealing -- in a different way -- with the same story, that is the mystery of the disappearance of the youthful bride of the young Pharoah, TutankhAmun I liked the Morrison book, but thought it somewhat overladen with detail for younger readers. This is more clear cut, the story is very plausible. There is occasionally a certain self-consciousness in the style, where the author lapses into present tense. On the whole, however, it can be sold as a good tale and authentic background.
