by Erle Stanley Gardner ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
This has a somewhat new slant for a Perry Mason yarn, for actually a whole case is built up on the lack of the corpus delicti and the illegality of using a confession secured while under drugs. Perry Mason believes his employer is guilty- and so does the reader, until a succession of circumstantial evidence breaks down and a whole new set of unprovable aspects are revealed. Perry Mason is almost hoisted on his own petard- but a twist of fate saves the day.
