For a minor dissipation of time, with pleasant people, this concern with the marital, household problems of Mike and Marge, their son Peter, Mike's attractive mother, Mary Anne. Small, seemingly practical jokes grow into major calamaties when Marge's sanity becomes suspect and family unity is disrupted. Mike's attachment to jazz-music exerts a stronger pull as the happenings in his house become more inexplicable, as his son and mother are drawn into the madness. Marge's departure puts Mike on the right track, and he is forced to have his prey committed to an insane asylum. Perfect marks for the jazz background, passing for the somewhat obvious denouement, and plus for the nice people.
