BOY WHO LIVED IN A CAVE

Long before boys had Christian names, the hero of this story lived with his family in a cave. One day he ventures out from the snug, warm place he has always known, and all the dangers of the world are revealed to him. He faces cold, and wild animals, and learns fear of other men. The boy returns to his family, wiser, content to know that within his cave, his home, there is security. Essentially, this is a reading exercise which uses the experiences of the boy partly as a device to encourage the child to read and partly to impart to the beginning reader, a sense of prehistoric life. A good supplement to class room texts.
