BORIS: Grandson of Baldy

Every youngster who read -- and loved Baldy of Nome, is a candidate for this successor. Here again is ""true story dog story"" -- the setting again Alaska -- and the dog here the runt of a litter, taken as his very own by a boy who determined to make up his own team with what flotsam and jetsam of the dog world he could accumulate. There is good adventure, culminating in a trip through the ice floes. One young reader writes: ""I like this because it is true. All the characters seem real, both dogs and people. The author knows what she is writing about because she is a partner in the famous Allan and Darling racing stables. She is one of my favorite authors.
