THE JOURNAL OF EUGENE DELACROIX

An introduction by Walter Pach, who edited and translated the famous journal, places Delacroix where he belongs as the precursor of a new age in art. The journals themselves deserve their fame, as a picture of the man, the times, the world of art and literature and music and criticism. An interesting human document. A fine piece of bookmaking, with beautiful reproductions of his masterpieces. A limited market, I fear.
