by Eva Knox Evans ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 15, 1953
An elementary ethical and social concept was vividly put forth in People Are Important, which too many missed in 1951 because the publisher-Capitol- was not geared to promote it sufficiently. How comes this, under a well-known imprint, and once again Miss Evans demonstrates her ability to write refreshingly about basic matters. Simply, vividly, she gives us the reasons why Americans live where they do- the all important matter of occupation- the reasons behind reasons. These go back to the making of the earth and the geological ages: European man's search for food, journeys down waterways, across seas; how man lived with mountains and lakes; how he moved westward, building industries and cities. The last chapters are solid reminders that ""people are important"" and that Americans come from everywhere, and that our own home towns hold their own fascinations.
