by Evelyn Berckman ‧ RELEASE DATE: April 23, 1971
This is one of Evelyn Berckman's Gingerbreadhouse Gothic tales (the modern ones are better) in which Sybilla-Marie, Duchess of Volingen-Ilm, is thrown out by her less than serene highness the Duke when he discovers their younger child Vikki is a bastard. Vikki is to be killed but do not underestimate a mother's love which takes Sybilla-Marie into burlap, into service scraping floors, and finally to little Vikki in his trundle bed. . . . Urgently unbosomed nonsense for the ladies and if you Sh. . . . you won't hear the ""vits"" and ""dats.
