Comments on different primitive methods of telling the time- from the amount of light there is outside to the Chinese water clock- build up to an explanation of how to tell the time by the clock right now. The other odd methods make interesting information but aside from this there is nothing to distinguish the book from any other minute and hour hand instruction, as it goes no deeper than that and builds no real concept of time.
