SILENTLY, THE CAT, AND MISS THEODOSIA

The only action in this story occurs when Silently, who is supposed to be an inscrutably wise sort of pussy, blinks. (open means yes; closed, no), and when his elderly mistress, Miss Theodosia, scoots around at night in a contraption called an Irish mail, which is sort of a limousine kiddy car. Miss Theodosia has spent most of her life, when not crocheting, memorizing all the proverbs and maxims in alphabetical order of subject. Although the book is quite short, she manages to bring most, of her repertoire to play as she sets about solving some nondescript problems of the locals. The story really consists of a smattering, of platitudes distilled to a teacupful of inertia.
