VANISHED

This takes place during some not too future Presidency and even though there's a lull in the cold war, the Chicoms and their Peiping toms are to be feared. Even more so our invisible government and this begins with an alert to Stephen Greer, friend to President Roudebush, and Gene Culligan, White House press secretary and narrator, that the C.I.A. is infiltrating science programs with their Operation Flycatcher. Shortly afterwards Greer disappears off a golf course; so does the Dr. Lubin whom he met with (and?) secretly; and a Nobel prize physicist. It's a better story than The Zinzin Road and not quite so preposterous as Night of Camp David, and throughout most of it actions speak louder than words some of which may be cliches.
