LUCK AND OPPORTUNITY

The autobiography of a lawyer, and a book that is primarily of interest to lawyers. Highlighting of Wellman's cases, with comparatively little of his personal life. From the moment when a minor scandal forced him to take up practice in New York instead of Boston, he made good. Corporation law, politics (he served in the District Attorney's office on criminal cases), and private practice, largely civil suits gave him a wide variety of cases during a full career. His record of success was exceptionally high. Not a book for the layman.
