Par prose and better ballistics as Grif Holbrook goes to Tucson to clear up the stagecoach stealings that are taking place just before the Civil War. Holbrook's investigations lead him to the Southern sympathizers at the bottom of the plot to run the stages to the South before the war begins. At the end of a chase and a battle between the two factions, the day is saved by the arrival of Annie Benson, madam and saloon-keeper, with a cannon. Holbrook gets the stages and Annie too. Super- standard.
