RAISING SMALL ANIMALS FOR PLEASURE AND PROFIT

This once-over-lightly of the possibilities for side-line profits mostly in rural areas is slanted toward the new special market of city and suburb dwellers with their eyes on country living and an augmented income. Specific information is necessarily brief, although the coverage is wide -- equipment, care and market for small animals, game, poultry, fish, fruit and vegetables. Rabbits, hamsters, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, pheasant, mink, raccoon, several varieties of fish, insects for bait, are some of the ventures discussed. The reader would do well to consult the lists of the Department of Agriculture and Interior bulletins as well as the bibliography for more detailed information before attempting such projects but this survey will direct interests and plans. A good bet for the rural migration.
