THAT MAN"" IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Kingdon's name -- and the fact that this is an excellent handbook for the ""voter who would weigh the Administration in the balance in November -- should help override the unfamiliarity of the publisher's name. Rex stout, in his ""message"", says ""Mere, then, is Roosevelt...The question is, do we want him, or what are we likely to get if we don't have him?""...These 173 pages help arrive at an answer. Kingdon feels that ""he is as essential in this hour as Abraham Lincoln in 1864""...He ""represents statesmanship for today"". The text arrives at these conclusions by an orderly survey of contemporary history, of the achievements -- and some of the defects (one could wiz; he'd faced more) of three terms of office -- of the immediate challenge to both parties, where they stand, who other possible candidates are, what is ahead of us. Kingdon is a protagonist for a fourth term.
