by Franklin M. Branley ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 30, 1981
When you first look at the sky, the stars may all seem alike to you. But take your time, look for a while, and you will begin to see differences."" After this comfortable invitation, Branley goes on with an orientation to what kids might be able to see on their own. The focus here is on familiar constellations, which are eased in without charts or paraphernalia, but simply a few words suggesting which direction to face and at what time of year. The text is simpler than Branley's Book of Stars for You (1967) in the same series; the easygoing pictures, combining affable sketches of sky-watching kids with outlines of the constellations, are in tune with the book's function as an unprepossessing preview.
