THE JANITOR'S GIRL

A sympathetic story for twelve and thirteen year olds sees the world right itself at last for Sue Langer whose father has just become superintendent of a large apartment house on Riverside Drive in New York. After they move in, Sue is a cheerful contrast to her older sister Laura who is sure they won't be considered anything better than janitor's kids. Laura's prediction seems to be right when rich, snobbish Rosalie moves in to one of the apartments and proves an effective lure for one of Sue's new friends, Cathy. But instead of despairing, Sue realizes finer values in Magda, daughter of the real janitor, and her cousin Anton, and the story of the threesome comes to its happy ending.
