A straightforward explanation and demonstration of hynopsis and its advantages, not only in eliminating physical pain during childbirth but in promoting well-being at other times, should help to remove much of the mystery, or fear, associated with it. While an old technique, hypnosis is again much more in use- and vogue. Dr. Kroger defines it, points up its advantages, indicates those (almost all- with the wish to believe in it) who provide good subjects, and outlines its use in childbirth (classes, demonstrations, etc.) where it is more beneficial than the so-called ""natural"" (which rapidly became ""educated"") childbirth but does not preclude the administration of drugs (although less are necessary). Autohypnosis- for more relaxed daily living; other ills- or bad habits- it may ease or eliminate; etc., etc., are all detailed for the general reader who has been reluctant to be en-tranced.
