by George Sessions Perry ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
Good Stuff, excellently told, of current Texas, Texans and some Texians, in this humorous, intimate portrait of a spectacular state. Here are the patterns of earnings, produce, amusements, politics, the fortunes, empires, of the various sections, pictures of the ranches, oil, cattle, cotton, sheep, cities, people. There is enough of the hell for leather past history and characters to balance out the story of the immediate present, which includes the current military contribution, the Air Force, etc., and an enjoyable research into colorful Texasisms. There is disrespect as a part of the picture -- and the whole is an extremely vigorous panel of state portraiture.
