by Georges Simenon ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 22, 1972
Maigret confronts this time the multiple murders of five women, successively and similarly stabbed to death while their clothes have been ripped to pieces. Only a button leads to the identification of the killer and the slight Oedipal implications of the crime. None of this is any more developed than you might expect -- Simenon gets by with very little these days although he's as much of a steel gray eminence as that Eiffel tower.
