Adventures on Adventure, an island near British Guiana, describe the author's days collecting animal specimens with his companion, Bob, a painter. The creatures, brought in by Amerindians, pile up a mountain of trouble with their feeding and general living problems, and- from anteaters to electric eels- and up to quite a band to transport. Not quite up to the freshness of Durrell's earlier books, but better than you might bargain for.
