by Giulio Maestro ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 24, 1979
The old musical beds game, set in motion here when a family of monkeys ask to use Leopard's backyard tree house while theirs is being painted. But their noise drives Leopard to friend Crocodile's house; Leopard's purring sends Crocodile to Aardvark's, Aardvark moves in with Hippo to escape Crocodile's thumping tail, and Hippo, who flees Aardvark's snuffling, ends up snoring all night in Leopard's bed and driving the monkeys back to the jungle. Moderately entertaining the first time round--but kids who've seen the motif done more than justice in Zemach's Mommy Buy Me a China Doll might sleep right through this one.
