by Gladys Taber ‧ RELEASE DATE: June 17, 1970
If Miss Taber indulges in an inordinate amount of chittering as she and her Abyssinian kitten Amber ""face the vicissitudes of life together,"" cat people--the most tolerant of animal fanciers when it comes to literary appreciations will probably react with equanimity. (A bit unstrung perhaps, but one of our own.) However, there are not too many who will concur with Miss Taber that Amber is discriminating in her TV viewing, enjoying as she is wont, both jungle adventure and the nightly weather report. But for some Amber's peccadilloes--swiping food, ""paddling with spread paws"" on the owner's neck, reacting sagely to spoken conversation--are a veritable cat's cradle of delights. Along the way, Miss Taber discourses on cat diet and care. But it's mostly one long purr--like Amber, simple-ly adorable.
