TORBEG

The Highlands of Scotland and the years that saw the Jacobite rising to bring back their King from over the water encompass the lives of Finlay Ban and his young wife Caroline. They win the hatred of Messiker, of the Hessian Guard, Finlay and others of the glens are blithe for battle and after they meet Charles, rouse their clans to march. first triumphant, they meet their defeat at Culloden, return home only to be betrayed through Cumberland's treachery. Finlay is deported in a prison ship to be indentured in Barbados; Caroline joins his brother in Albany and when both are united at last, it is their turn to visit a vengeance on their nemesis, Messiker. A braw account of a lost cause in which loyal bluebonnets paid a high price for their adherence to the Stuarts offers well handled history, adventure and romance.
