by Grey Owl ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 8, 1935
A Canadian Indian, now connected with Canada's National Parks in conservation work, tells the story back of his abandonment of his work as trapper in an utterly enchanting book. He and his young wife set out on a trapping expedition, and she persuades him to capture two beaver kittens, whose natural guardians he had trapped. What endearing pets they make, and what thoroughly entertaining reading. But they spoil his love for his profession, and he turns his attention to protection of beavers instead, and to building up a beaver colony in the remote wilderness. It is a story of the wilds, and anyone who likes wild animal stories or nature books will love this. Should have a plus sale to teen age boys and girls.
