An array of articles on top -- if not high -- performers from or like Rolling Stone which are essentially monologues by the subjects themselves. Whether on location or a gig, there are actors and pop stars galore -- from Perkins to Peckinpah, Jethro Tull to Boz Scaggs -- it's the flipped-out side to Rex Reed's current People Are Crazy Here (p. 286). Some of the off-the-cuff remarks by celebs Newman and Mitchum are amusing enough, but that's probably unintentional. It's supposedly meant to inform by letting it all hang out and, concomitantly, to deflate what's left of the Hollywood mystique. You'll find that all their scoring and scams are about as exciting as organic yogurt.
