YOUR ULCER: Prevention, Control, Cure

Surprisingly, considering the number of books on coronary diseases, there seems to have been little or nothing, directed toward the general reader, on peptic ulcers-- the ""wound stripe of civilization"" which has a one out of ten incidence. Dr. Serino's excellent, short book about the peptic ulcer which recurs, alarmingly and unnecessarily, and which can be prevented and cured is both explanatory and explicit; on symptoms; cause; injurious drugs (aspirin); sleep, obligatory; alcohol and cigarettes-- in moderation if they relax; the more drastic manifestations and surgery; and diet. Dr. Serino who treats the man as well as the disease has a great deal to say and says it briefly.
