by Gustaf Tenggren ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 12, 1940
The famous Scandinavian illustrator has done a Mother Goose which bids fair to scoop the market this season, and for seasons to come. His illustrations are just modern enough, without being modernistic, to appeal to those who are bored with the straight realism (plus sentimentality) of the Wright favorite, and yet do not like the extremes of the Pogany Mother Goose. These Tenggren pictures have a postery quality both in design and in clear, flat colors. Full color on everyone of the 144 pages,-full pages and decorations and vignettes. Some of the rhymes are set to music. The end papers, jacket and paster on the cloth binding are all in full color.
