The author of The Lost Dragon of Wessex (1957, p. 278, J-88) having tapped the rich deep vein of Arthurian legends, has designed the exciting tale of young Hugh of Alleyn, who goes to Camelot and subsequently finds himself in the company of Galahad who is in quest of the Grail. Miss Bowers has woven her tapestry in appropriate medieval style and colors, and Sir Hugh does not place a strain on the body of Arthurian myth. Lancelot, Galahad, Tristram, Percival, Gawain, Arthur-- they're all here, unchanged. The golden colors of Camelot form a striking contrast to the ugged forest world of Britain. Written in a dignified style, the book should pro interest in this exciting period.
