COME SEE THEM DIE

Fact and fiction -- this collection of the stories back of the deaths witnessed by a Hearst journalist. The stories follow his career chronologically, from one paper to another, from one city to another, up to the execution of Mrs. Antonio. Typical newspaper argot, racy, tough, with here and there doses of sentiment, stories well told (occasionally too well told). A good man's book -- and for all its subject, not morbid in atmosphere. Cain, Farrell, Hammet audience.
