Harold Nicolson, perhaps, leads the ranks of biographers, today, and his own well-rounded experience in diplomacy is an added factor in an equipment admirably adapted to the task of writing a biography of a man who, in too brief a span of years, had come to symbolize the best in American political, business and diplomatic life.
