ASTOUNDING

A brace of writers who produced some of their finest work under the tutelage of SF's redoubtable John Campbell contribute to this memorial anthology that's really a super-edition of Campbell's magazine. Several celebrated series are revived, including Anderson's galactic robber baron Van Rijn, Asimov's mock treatises on thiotimoline, Clement's gravitationally anomalous Mesklin and Harrison's Deathworld supermen, plus fine work by Bester, Reynolds and others. Campbell would have been pleased.
