This popular author has a faithful audience which should welcome another happy yarn -- in a Vermont village this time. There is a mystery here -- a suspicious stranger and an old cave, supposedly hiding treasure -- which involve Andy Draper (11) and his sister Joan (9). However, it is the story of the traditional overworked, a starved orphan, Peter, a friend of the Drapers, which paces the action. All ends happily, with the treasure found and Peter adopted by the Drapers. Lots of winter fun, exploring and happy family chat-chat.
