IT WASN'T MY FAULT

Cartoon nuttiness--from the creators of The Wizard, the Fairy, and the Magic Chicken--that turns a cumulative story on its head and doesn't land too hard on the point it's making. What's up Well, little Murdley Gurdson, who has a way of not accepting blame, is out for a walk ""in his one too big new shoe"" (having somewhere lost the other) when an egg lands on his head. The nearby bird blames the aardvark who scared her; the aardvark blames the pygmy hippo who stepped on his tail; the hippo blames ""a hopping shoe with long ears"" that got in her way--that comes along, hopping high over everyone's heads, and turns out to be a rabbit stuck in (you guessed it) Murdley's lost shoe. And since the rabbit isn't to blame either, Murdley has to tearfully acknowledge that it was all ""my fault."" In a happy finale, he gets the egg to eat--and then walks right into another pitfall. Deftly contrived, and comical without overstraining.
