The relighting of the flame between them, with the attendant complications in the new post-war Washington, is the focus of the story, and is seen largely through the eyes of a young California cousin, Kate, and a young Korean veteran who had found Sylvia alluring and unobtainable. Skillfully told, eminently readable, but not up to the level of her first success, Above Suspicion.
