A cunning story, in verse, which for its timeliness and its sentimental appeal may attain more popularity and more fame than its actual quality would ordinarily acquire. Timothy was in London during the bombing, and his parents wanted him safe; Timothy, though only a very small boy, felt he was needed there, and refused to go until they convinced him that he could be more useful as an ambassador of good will in America. This is the story of how he came to America, of how he met the hurdles manfully, and of how he offered his chief possession on the altar of his purpose of spreading good will. Oddly enough, the story is sentimental without being poignantly so.
